It’s apparent that our family is deep in the throes of video game obsession. Minecraft is currently the game of choice, its use is the barometer of rewards and punishments. The hanging fruit used to get to school on time, to help around the house, to be obedient.

And now the lingo has seeped into other aspects of life, most specifically “pause game.” When the boys are engaged in an activity and need a break – whether to take a bathroom break or catch their breath, they say, “Pause game.”
